The sole intention of this account is to help cover some of Bahari’s medical bills, which in all honesty are probably in excess of our goal here. Becca has only been a member at CF for a brief period of time but in that time she has already contributed more to the Forums than I have in all my years.
Many of you may remember the recent addition to our resources section, specifically the care images. That project was her idea. I was lucky enough to have her ask me to help her with it. While most of you only saw the fruit of her work, I was witness to the two months of research that went into the rough drafts of those images and the countless hours of tweaking graphics so they displayed perfectly. And if you’ve ever read through an entire thread on the forums you know how difficult it can be to come to a consensus on any aspect of Cham husbandry between two keepers, much less an entire, highly opinionated, community! She eagerly took on this daunting task and paid-it-forward for years to come without asking for anything in return.
She fought through all that for you. She fought through all that for future keepers she will never meet and, again, asked for NOTHING in return.
We can’t sit back and let this happen to her. She had to put her beloved Bahari down today, to end his pain. Once again, not for her benefit, but for the benefit of another. She even managed to keep her civility throughout MOST of her coccidia thread which is something many of us failed to do, including myself.
This is the first GoFundMe I’ve ever participated in or organized, if this isn’t worthy of giving it a go I don’t know what is. I put in the first $50 because I can’t ask you to do something I’m not willing to do myself. Even if it’s just a dollar, each will help.
Do it for Becca. And Bahari! Pay it forward!
