Get VET COMEDY TOUR on the ROAD!!

Hello,

I am reaching out to speak with you regarding sponsorship for an event I’m organizing in support of a Veteran's non-profit organization.

I'm a Navy veteran, and a lifelong entertainer. I also suffer the effects of PTSD. I'm grateful that I have been able to utilize the excellent services of the Minneapolis VA Medical Center for my care over the years. But many current and Veteran service members who suffer from ailments such as PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Military Sexual Assaults and Chronic Pain Issues are not always that fortunate to have care close by, or as was my case, the fortitude to fight my illnesses and reach out for the help I so desperately needed. The struggles to reintegrate into regular family and civilian life can be overwhelming, and all too often, can lead to further problematic scenarios, as I experienced in the forms of severe depression, chemical dependency, isolation from my family and friends leading to divorce, loss of employment, run-ins with law enforcement, financial ruin, and finally culminating on the verge of becoming one of the devastating statistical 22 Veterans who take their own life each and every day in the United States.

There are few out there who can imagine where one's mind goes once they've reached that desperate a place, especially a parent or spouse of a service member who can't understand how to reach in to connect with them. When I first came across information on the retreats for service members who suffered from these maladies, that were being provided 100% free of charge, through this Lone Survivor Foundation, I wanted to know more...what was the motivation, the connection. A simple Google search of the term "lone survivor" flooded me with pages of information, biographies, synopses of a book and film of the same name, and the story of a man who would know the effects of these conditions far better, or worse, than I ever could.

Lone Survivor Foundation         LSF's mission is to restore, empower and renew hope for wounded service members and their families through health, wellness and therapeutic support. The average cost for a single attendee to be brought in for a retreat is approximately $3,500. Each year, the number of requests from across the country to attend outnumber the resources available. For the last year, I have been working to share my talents in the entertainment field with LSF in order to raise awareness of their mission, and funds for their continued success. More info at:

Now I am taking on my largest self-run effort to date, the "Humor for Heroes Tour 2017", a comedy fundraising tour that will cover the state of Minnesota from October 13 - November 11, hitting 30 cities, and performing 30 shows, in 30 days with a tour finale in Minneapolis on Veteran's Day, Saturday, November 11th.  And this will be no ordinary comedy club show...I am lucky enough to be joined by three other veterans of the Twin Cities comedy scene, each with 30+ years of performing experience. We have designed an act to be fashioned after the classic entertainment styling of the original Vegas kings of showbiz - The Rat Pack...but with our own individual personalities and modern twists. As I have been putting the tour together, I have been focusing on bringing the shows primarily to the very same audiences we are trying to help - Veterans and service members, by booking approximately 80% of the shows into American Legions and VFW halls around the state. The response has been incredible, not only from the venues, but also from the media. We are already working with multiple regional markets on coverage of the tour, as well as Twin Cities radio and TV. We did the ‘unveiling’ of our complete tour schedule on the KQ Morning Show and can be seen on WCCO-TV News (CBS/Ch. 4) on Tuesday, October 10th at 9:40am.

To maximize the funds/donations that are directed to the Foundation, we are seeking assistance with underwriting of the major expenses of the tour. There are multiple areas I have worked to cover leading up to the start of the tour, including, design and printing of all marketing materials, booking and traveling to locations to secure venues, etc. Now, with only 5 days until the first show on Friday, Oct. 13th, a Private Preview at the Minneapolis VA Hospital, we STILL have not received any offers of sponsorship…which will not only force me to utilize greater proceeds from the shows for expenses, but will prevent us from securing the very transportation and equipment necessary to get out of town and get underway.

The amount I’m looking to raise by THURSDAY (10/12 - $6,400), will at minimum, cover the cost of just the rental of the needed vehicle and trailer for the month. (my 2006 Dodge Caravan with 234k miles just won't pull the trailer for 3,000 miles! Maybe not even 300 miles...) We will still have lodging, gas, meals, etc…but those we can work on from the road.
BUT FIRST, WE HAVE TO GET OUT ON IT!

I have information on the comedians involved in the tour, as well as additional information on the incredible non-profit 501(c)3 organization we are supporting. If you have an interest in learning more about how you can be a part of this exciting multi-city, multi-night event, while supporting the men and women who support our freedom, please call me directly at (612) [phone redacted].

Thank you for taking the time to read about this venture, and even if you choose not to get involved in sponsorship, I truly hope you will support us by coming out to a show!
