Get Steve to the Cleveland Clinic

First I want to say I’m sorry dad that I have to do this but we need to get you to Ohio. I am making this go fund me account to raise money to get my father to the Cleveland Ohio Clinic to seek medical attention. If anyone knows my dad he doesn’t like to ask for money let alone help he’s the guy who tries to do all himself. Today (March 12th) right now he is sitting in the emergency room for the 4th time since Friday night, his 70th time by ambulance in the past 2 years (yes 70 times). With symptoms of throwing up, excrucitating abdominal pain, neausa, sweating through his clothes, not being able to sleep, weight loss, falling and many more. Sometime it last for 3-5 days and other times it can be 10 days straight of not holding down any food and several trips to the hospital to get pumped with fluids and drugs to be sent home to pick up and go back in sometimes a short 4 hours. They say that it is Gastroparesis which is a condition in which your stomach cannot empty itself of food in a normal fashion. It can be caused by damage to the vagus nerve, which regulates the digestive system. And being a type one diabetic does not help the situation either. But his GI doctor has also given him the referral that the insurance company requested to be seen in Ohio for getting some expenses paid for. What do you know they denied him of that. His own GI doctor gave that referral because there is nothing left in New York State that he can do for him and they said no. So now we are in the process of collecting all emergency room visit notes from each doctor that has seen him, even nurse’s notes and getting them to the insurance company. We’ll just take the last 2 years out the approaching 5 that we have been going through this and progressively getting worse, in just 2 years that approximately 250 pages of doctors notes that they have recorded and logged about his illness. This has been hard on my family for not only my mom who has gone sleepless nights like this weekend and still has gone to work to make sure to provide for her family while he cannot due to being in the hospital so often but for me and my sisters as well as we do have a 7 year old brother who we have to look after and explain to him everytime he asks us why we’re picking him up and not mom or dad. It’s hard to sit there and watch a loved one suffer in pain and not be able to help or even take a little bit away. If you donate thank you from my whole family it means the world!
