Get Silverback back on his feet!

Langley icon Chris Adams has hit a rough spot with his health.  Against his will, we are reaching out to his community for help with an increasing pile of medical bills related to a heart condition he recently was hospitalized for.

Chris came to Whidbey in ’91 from New York with his family.  He was the owner and operator of the Marketplace, director of Choochokam arts festival for 10 years, started the Island Independent with Drew Kampion, was the editor for the Whidbey Record, manager of the Island Athletic club, was on the board of the Whidbey Island Waldorf School, manager of Mo’s Pub, bartender at the Edgecliff and Pizzeria, and naked pizza deliverer to the Doghouse on New Year’s Eve.

Chris was diagnosed with congestive heart disease.  At the time he was admitted to the hospital his heart was functioning at 10%.  His prognosis is good and he is fully embracing a new healthier lifestyle.  In fact he had quit smoking two months before his health declined and as a community we are behind him 100% in this new way of life.

He will be getting back to his book keeping soon but in the meantime, anything we as a community can do to help him financially will be greatly appreciated.  All funds raised will go directly to living and medical expenses, including hospital bills, doctors’ visits and prescriptions.
