Hello friends!
My name is Eric Anderson. Some of you know about Nerd Chapel , a ministry I run to gamers, nerds and geeks through blogging, conducting church services at conventions, tabling at conventions, and other means.
Nerd Chapel has been invited to take part in the Christian Game Developers Conference in Portland, Oregon this year!
The conference, held in July this year, is a chance for Christians working within game software development and tabletop gaming to network and discuss ways to implement Christian principals in the gaming industry. My role will include doing some teaching/preaching, providing prayer appointments for the attendees, running some games, as well as hosting a table with info on Nerd Chapel and the book I co-wrote, "42:Discovering Faith Through Fandom".
The money raised here will go toward the cost of travel and lodging. If this is raised I have been offered a scholarship to take care of the registration fee. Because of flight costs this trip is the same cost as 2 or 3 of the cons Nerd Chapel would normally be participating in.
I would like to have the funds within 2 weeks of this going live because the longer I wait to book flights the more expensive they might get. Lodging is only 25 dollars per night in the dorms at the college where the conference will take place.
This conference is a great opportunity for me to meet other Christians who not only have the same hobbies as I do, but also serve to represent Jesus in the same circles I serve. I would love to help some others along thorugh prayer and some teaching. This will also let me meet some people I have connected with online but have never met in person.
