A few weeks ago, I received some very exciting news: I was one of 24 women to be accepted into the SANS Women's Immersion Academy! This means I'll take 3 SANS courses and certification exams free of charge, which is an amazing gift and a tremendous boon to my career development. SANS certs are highly regarded; I'm honored to have made the cut.
However, while the courses themselves are free for immersion academy participants, attendees are still on the hook for travel and lodging costs. Since I've spent the past two years as a student, I don't have the benefit of having an employer covering training expenses. I need some help getting to my first course, SEC401, in Minneapolis, June 19-24.
My funding goal covers:
-6 nights in a shared hotel room
-Travel to and from Minneapolis (need flight on the return trip for sure, can take MegaBus on the way out)
-Transit within Minneapolis
-Meals
The funding goal can also be reduced if you can offer any of the following:
-Crashing space for 6 nights in downtown Minneapolis - either a shared hotel room if you're attending SANS, or a couch/guest room if you're local
-Enough Delta airline miles to cover a flight, either one-way or round-trip (usually about 10K miles each way)
-The ability to take me out to dinner in Minneapolis
Since the beginning of my career change into infosec, I've always tried to give back by volunteering at cons and sharing knowledge. Now I need your help again - I made it through a competitive application process, now I just need to make it to Minneapolis!
