Get Joe back on his bike

Donation protected
In early July, Joe was laid off from his job at Alliant Engineering. A couple of weeks later he experienced severe stomach pain. Days after onset, Joe went to the emergency room. He was admitted to the hospital on Thursday, August 1 with severe abdominal pain and dehydration.  He's undergone a number of tests to determine what all is causing his pain. On Thursday, August 8th he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.  It is treatable with chemo and radiation, but his HIV status compromises his immune system, so his recovery is going to take a while. Joe does have health insurance through Medical Assistance, but has no income while he is recovering.

Many of you regularly attend Joe's spin classes at the YWCA on Wednesday or Sunday mornings. Or perhaps you've pedaled on one of the many Red Ribbon Rides that Joe has championed for over the past 16 years. We all know how much of an inspiration Joe is. He is positive and motivating. His attitude and encouragement keep so many of us in shape over the winter. We aren't sure how long it will take Joe to get back on the bike, but every donation will be appreciated as we get him there!

Thanks to all of you for your support!
