First off, thank you for even taking the time from your busy day to visit this page. It means a lot!
Next, who's Ilana? What's the show? Why should I contribute? Is her hair pink?!
To answer the last question: yes, she has crazy hair, and it's amazing.
For the first question: Ilana is one of my best friends. She's been struggling over the past handful of years with various medical issues, and without going into details without her permission (this is all a surprise), the last year she's been through the ringer a little more than usual, and the next few months will be an uphill battle, including an out-of-state hospital stay and many rounds of rigorous treatments. Ilana is one of, if not THE most, positive and lighthearted person I know. She always tries so hard to keep a smile on her face, as well as those around her. The fact that she's going through all that she does daily isn't fair, and I try my best to make her days full of laughter and joy. And then I thought of this page.
The second question? Ilana is a HUGE Queens Of The Stone Age fan. I recently saw them in Chicago, and I sent her photos and videos because she couldn't be there. She was so happy!! We talked about how when they're in New York, it'd be a few days before she takes her flight for her first out-of-state medical trip. She wants to go, but she said the seats that are being resold are stupid expensive, and she wasn't sure about going because of everything going on. I looked into it, and there ARE some tickets still being sold on Ticketmaster in the 200 section (this is MSG we're talking here), and the prices for the seats actually aren't that bad!
The $310 that I'm asking for will cover the cost of 4 tickets in section 208 of Madison Square Garden. That's with fees and all. Not bad, right?! Why 4, you ask? I would love Ilana to be able to bring her brother and two friends/other family members with her as she watches one of her favorite bands live. I, unfortunately, wouldn't be able to cover even half of that cost by myself, which is why I came here for help. I know many of us are struggling, and that there are so many people that need help all around the country and the world. If this cause struck and sort of cord with you, I appreciate any kind of contribution. The show is October 24th, but I'd hope to get the tickets at the very latest October 20th. If I don't meet my goal, she will still get ANY amount of money that was raised to put towards a treat-yo-self day, or even just one or two tickets to the show!
