Get Hemi Healthy

Hemi is a 4 1/2 year old black lab that belongs to Firefighter Trevor Allen with Corbin Fire Department and Laurel County Fire Department. Hemi began her training in the fire service as a search and rescue K9 but due to her love of chasing flashlights she was unable to continue her training. Trevor took Hemi in as his pet and have since become best friends, wherever Trevor goes Hemi is always close behind. Both departments share Hemi as their "firedog" and enjoy having her around. Hemi started getting sick on Monday April 3, 2017 with stomach issues. We began by taking her to local veterinary clinics but her health continued to decline after treatments. The decision was made to transfer Hemi to Bluegrass Veterinary Specialists in Lexington, Ky on Thursday April 13, 2017. Hemi is suffering from neurological issues and kidney failure due to Erlychia (an illness caused by tick bites). Hemi is a very special dog and is loved by her fellow firefighters and their families. We are asking for help with her medical bills and other expenses that may be incurred during her treatments.
