Get Brendan Back His Guitar!

Donation protected
Our friend Brendan James was in a terrible car accident last year which has caused him a great deal of financial stress.  While still in recovery from the accident, and continuing working towards his sobriety, he has bravely faced this challenge without the addictive pain pills which cripple so many of us.  This would have been a great time to go back to addiction, instead, Brendan buckled down and remained true to his program which has saved the lives of millions of addicts from the abuse of drugs and alcohol.

You can imagine his surprise, as he was walking through a Guitar Center recently, he looks up and there it is - something many of us only dream about - his first Gibson Les Paul, the exact serial number, staring him right in the face.  Sold away for another life moment from 12 years ago, there is no good reason for it to be there.     The guitar that took him from playing notes to playing music, right there on the wall.

Ready to buy for the price of $1899, a normal sum, if not for months of being out of work to visit hospitals and attend therapy.  It's a sign, there's no question.  One doesn't just find their "one that got away", it just doesn't happen.   But without help, it may get away again.

Due to the accident, Brendan has had trouble raising the funds needed to put this amazing guitar back with its rightful owner.  We all know the feeling of a guitar we sold away, or was stolen from us, and for him to have the chance to capture it again is more than just a guitar.  It's a sign for him that he's on the right path, to keep facing his challenges, and to never blame others for what happens in life.

He has been able to put the guitar on layaway for 30 days.  This gives us just enough time to sort out the details and make his dreams come true.  I hope that you can find it in your heart to help a fellow musician a way to heal after a long, exhausting year on his road to recovery.

Guitars aren't just every day things.  They're items we pour our hearts and souls into.  They're pieces of art we stare at for hours, dreaming our greatest dreams of mastering the impossible, of creating something out of nothing.  They're reminders of where we've been, where we are, and who we want to be.  A guitar given as a gift carries more of this weight.  It carries the goodness of mankind, the hopes of peace in the world, the respect that is given to a gifted instrument is vaulted, and with good reason.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, and please, take care of yourself.
