Gerrilyns Bone Marrow Transplant Recovery
Gerrilyn was diagnosed with AML acute leukemia on March 9th 2018. She went through 4 heavy rounds of chemotherapy to reach remission and then to entirely kill her bone marrow so it could be replaced by her sister Christine's bone marrow donation which has been successful. Over 100 days she has spent in the hospital along with months of infusion center visits. She has fought off CMV and BK, two nasty viruses that are in us, and take advantage of a new "baby" immune system after the transplant. That was 4 months of peeing blood every 20 minutes around the clock. She has been through many bone marrow biopsies. She is a total warrior. This has been a long 7 figure dollar amounts war, and every resource she has has been used. Her blood count numbers are back. She just thinks about her daughter Christine who has type 1 diabetes. If you can help give her some peace of mind it would make you feel good.+ Read More
Friday already. I’m hear for the weekend. Feeling better. Getting weaned off oxygen. Was at 100 now down to 35. My stats are low 90’s. All else is good. Thank you for your generosity and support for us.
Good morning all. Finally got a bit of sleep last night. Thank goodness. So, the doctor is talking graft versus host disease, christines marrow is duking it out with mine. I have her marrow and it recognized something different and went after it, it’s affecting my lungs. They’re trying to wean me down as I’ve been on 100% oxygen since last Tuesday. So, there’s that. Patrick is trying to figure how to move the campaign to “medical, leukemia “ category. So I don’t know how all that works but, if we’re gone for a bit, we’ll be back. Thank you all for the support, love, prayers and thoughts. ❤️
I don’t know what day it is. Being hospitalized is trying to beat sleep deprivation. Can’t stick an egg to the wall. Whatever they’re doing, is working. Slow, slow and steady. Did I say slow? Been here a week, no end in sight yet. Psulli has the kids and the house, shopping, laundry and everything else. He’s a keeper!❤️❤️
