Gerrilyns Bone Marrow Transplant Recovery
Gerrilyn was diagnosed with AML acute leukemia on March 9th 2018. She went through 4 heavy rounds of chemotherapy to reach remission and then to entirely kill her bone marrow so it could be replaced by her sister Christine's bone marrow donation which has been successful. Over 100 days she has spent in the hospital along with months of infusion center visits. She has fought off CMV and BK, two nasty viruses that are in us, and take advantage of a new "baby" immune system after the transplant.
