My cat Genji was with my 79 year old neighbor a few days ago, she's a really sweet lady and takes good care of him, when I'm at work or school.
He stays with her sometimes, so he doesn't feel as lonely, since he lost his playmate a year ago. She also has a cat and they both get along great together, so I'm really happy that he still has social contact with her cat.
Genji loves staying with her and often times doesn't even wanna come home with me, which is a good thing since he has another place to stay.
When I came home after work, she told me that he was gone and that the only possibility was that he jumped out of her tilted window in the bathroom, which she forgot about.
I know that tilted windows are dangerous, especially with cats but it is what it is. We looked for him for a couple of hours until it was night time, then late in the morning he came back, limping and obviously in pain. I was relieved but also shocked how his leg looked.
I was certain that his leg and hip was broken and this got confirmed by the vet.
The operation cost me 1350€, which is a fortune for me, since I only work part time and attend school at the moment, so it came as quite a shock to me. I obviously moved some money around and payed the vet, since Genji is everything I have at the moment and I wouldn't want to trade him for anything in this world.
My neighbor told me that she would pay for the operation, but she's very old and also doesn't have much money. I know that it's not her fault and she takes great care of Genji, so I immediately refused her offer.
It's been almost a week now and his leg got somehow worse.
I have to keep Genji in a cage for 6 weeks, so he doesn't jump or move much, so he doesn't put any strain on his bones/leg. I had to get him off his meds now since he was taking them for a while, but the vet told me to leave it at that, once I used everything up. He can barely stand on his leg and drags it just around, I called the vet and they told me it's probably because he doesn't have any painkillers anymore but I'm going to the vet again next week just to make sure, so I got closure if his leg is healing or not.
I'm really scared that he has to go through another operation, which I couldn't afford.
I don't know if this is a long shot or not, but Go Fund Me is my last hope at the moment.
I have never asked for money like this before and it feels really awful, but it's the least I can do for Genji's benefit.
I will obviously post some updates from time to time.

Mein Kater, Genji, war vor kurzem bei meiner Nachbarin zuhause, während ich bei der Arbeit war. Sie ist eine sehr liebe, alte Frau (79 Jahre) und kümmert sich immer toll um ihn. Ich mache das häufig so, damit Genji nicht den ganzen Tag lang alleine in der Wohnung sitzen muss. Seitdem er seinen Spielkameraden verloren hat, ist er gerne bei ihr, besonders, weil sie auch eine Katze besitzt mit der er sich gut versteht.
Inziwschen hat sich Genji auch sehr gut daran gewöhnt und bleibt oft auch gerne länger noch bei meiner Nachbarin. Also eigentlich alles gut, aber als ich vor ein paar Tagen von der Arbeit nach Hause kam, war Genji verschwunden und meine Nachbarin sagte mir, dass er durch ein gekipptes Fenster entwischt sei.
Ich weiß, dass gekippte Fenster für Katzen gefährlich sein können, aber anscheinend hätte ich das meiner Nachbarin nocheinmal deutlicher sagen müssen. Nachdem er weg war, hat sich meine arme Nachbarin dann sehr schuldig gefühlt und wir haben ihn zusammen eine lange Zeit lang gesucht. Einige Stunden später kam er dann aber plötzlich von alleine wieder zurück zu unserem Haus und ich war sehr erleichtert. Leider war Genji aber verletzt und hatte ein gebrochenes Bein/Hüfte.
Ich bin natürlich sofort mit ihm zum Tierarzt, wo mir dann gesagt wurde, dass er operiert werden muss. Die Operation hat 1350 Euro gekostet! Da ich meinen Kater über alles liebe habe ich das natürlich sofort gezahlt, auch wenn ich gerade so genug Geld hatte um für die OP zu bezahlen.
Meine Nachbarin wollte schon die Operation selber zahlen. Leider hat sie aber auch nicht besonders viel Geld und deshalb will ich sie das nicht zahlen lassen, weil sie ja netterweise freiwillig auf meine Katze aufgepasst hat.
Das große Problem ist nun, dass es Genji nach der Operation anscheinend wieder schlechter geht. Ich habe Angst, dass er nocheinmal operiert werden müsste, weil ich das nicht zahlen könnte.
Ich habe noch nie um Geld gebeten und es fühlt sich nicht gut an, aber es ist das mindeste was ich für Genji tun kann.
Es steht also sehr dringend um Genji! Ich hoffe nun auf diese Go Fund Me Kampagne! Eure Hilfe würde mir wirklich die Welt bedeuten, da ich meinen Kater über alles liebe!
