Our precious little Gene, who is only 6 years old was under the weather for about 1-2 weeks prior to his recent hospitalization. His mother, Angela took him to see his pediatrician twice in one week . On Thursday June 9, his pediatrician was ready to send him home when Angela asked the doctor to perform a urinalysis. The test results came back and the doctor sent Gene to Children's Hospital of Buffalo for further evaluation.
At Children's Hospital Gene was diagnosed with kidney failure and immediately started dialysis. A kidney biopsy was ordered and it showed End Stage Renal Disease.
Angela will begin the protocol to be a Kidney donor for her son, who will travel to Pittsburgh Children's Hospital for the transplant.
Gene loves to play with his amazing sister Noriana, he enjoys sports, especially wrestling. He loves video games and reading.
Gene's parents are Angela Cheff and Gene Hilson Jr. His proud grandparents are Carol, Anthony and Kelly Cheff and Gene Hilson and Letha "Nay Nay" Morange. His sister is Noriana who just adores him. He also has many aunts, uncles, and cousins who are praying for him!!
