Yesterday one of my dear friends rushed his two year old daughter to the hospital.  Her name is Ava Sierra Diehl.  She was sick with an upset stomach but unfortunately her prognosis was much worse than a simple illness.

She has been diagnosed with neuroblastoma cancer.   This form of cancer is most commonly found in young children and if caught early enough is treatable.  Tommy Diehl and his wife Heather Diehl are still awaiting the results to find out exactly what treatment will be needed, and what is possible.   For sure they are looking at chemotherapy to start with and likely surgery to follow.

We will update when more information is available.

Ava has an older brother who just started Kindergarten.   They enjoy fishing and riding bikes together, and playing with their two german shepard puppies.   We are all hoping that she can beat this and get back to doing those normal kid things as soon as possible!

Any donations that you could spare would be greatly appreciated to help this family in their time of need.  Donations will be used to help with medical costs, and travel and things the family needs to help deal with this terrible situation.

If you cannot donate, if you could please at least share this and spread the word that would be fantastic as well.

Thank you!

It's been a while since our last update. First off thanks to everyone who's shared this and donated in the past. That's been a huge help and greatly appreciated.

Currently Ava is in Philadelphia getting more opinions and a fresh look from different doctors regarding the cancer that is stubbornly hanging out in her pancreas. Over the past few months she's had more chemo, radiation, and countless procedures to battle the cancer. There has been some success and some setbacks and her fight still continues. Her amazing fighting spirit and determination though remains unchallenged.

Merry Christmas everyone... I wanted to take a moment to update everyone who has so kindly helped out with sharing this page and donating money for Ava.

As I type this Ava is 12 hours into a major surgery to remove the majority of the Tumor that has taken up residency on her kidneys, stomach, near her spine etc. 6 rounds of Chemotherapy have helped, the tumors have shrunk in many places, and some are gone, but she is not out of the woods yet. She still needs two more rounds of Chemo, Bone marrow transplant, stem cells etc. (most of this was harvested from her when this all began).

Bottom line... more doctor visits, more surgery, more chemo. This little girl is plugging along and kicking cancers butt so far, but this has been very difficult on her family. If anyone can share this page again, or donate anything I know the Diehl family would be most gracious.

Ava will most likely be missing Christmas at home this year, and was happy to get a visit from Santa before her surgery.

Thank you, and Merry Christmas,

Brent Parker, Heather & Tommy Diehl
Early Christmas so she didnt miss it.

So it's been a few weeks since the last update. First off I would like to say thank you to everyone who's donated and shared this page. The money raised so far is greatly appreciated. The Diehl family has been halfway living in the hospital since this has begun. Their son is attending kindergarten, and Ava has been in and out of the hospital numerous times. She has received several rounds of chemotherapy so far. She has also had surgery to harvest stem cells and bone marrow.

Last week she had an infection and a really bad fever and had to go back to the hospital early.

Unfortunately she has lost her hair as is common with chemotherapy... So her dad is now rocking the bald do with her.

So far she is still receiving treatment and the doctors are planning a surgery in the future to remove the tumors. In the meantime its several days in the hospital and several days home as she receives treatment.

If anyone is able it would still be greatly appreciated to receive further donations. The costs and time away from work are ongoing. Also anyone who can share this page that would be equally helpful.

Update as of 9/12/17.

Little Ava is finally getting to go home for a few weeks. She is not out of the woods yet though. Unfortunately her cancer is stage 4, the doctors however are still hopeful that it can be treated and she has been undergoing tests and chemotherapy to battle this disease over the last few days.

The good news is that the cancer has not gotten into her bones or bone marrow. It is still located in soft tissue, which if I understand correctly is more treatable.

This will be a long road for treatment, and her family is very grateful for the donations received thus far.

Thank you!
This is Ava being told she can go home for now! Look at that smile!!
