Hi friends!
In January 2015, I will be spending ten days in Israel and Palestine with a group of young adults from the ELCA La Crosse Area Synod.
Our trip is part of the Peace Not Walls campaign of the ELCA, so we use accompaniment, advocating, and awareness building as means to connect us (ELCA members) to our companions in the Holy Land. We promote dignity, full respect for human rights, healing, and reconciliation. With our Palestinian Lutheran companions, we accompany Palestinians and Israelis, Jews, Christians, and Muslims working together for peace with justice. During our time in the Holy Land, we will be engaging in conversations with Israeli and Palestinian young adults, in an attempt to gain a better understanding of their lives, struggles, and joys while living in a place that is plagued by war and misunderstandings. With these experiences, we will return to the states to share our experiences and ways our home congregations can become involved in the Holy Land.
I am asking for donations to help me get to and from Tel Aviv. I am also in the process of making connections with music programs, schools, composers, and churches in Israel, in hopes of donating an amount to help keep the gift of music alive in the Holy Land. Please give the amount that you believe is right. If you cannot give, do not worry! Please pray for me, our group of young adults, and for the people of Israel and Palestine.
