Hello All, It is with a heavy heart I have to come to the community to request aid. Many of the surrounding neighborhoods are aware of the horrific shooting/robbery that occurred at Gatti's Pizza on Rayford Rd. the evening of Sunday, December 14th. Nathan Gray, a valued 24 year old shift leader was held at gunpoint and shot in the face. It is estimated he will require 3 to 4 more surgeries as well as additional recovery time. Therefore he will not be able to work and his monthly income will not be available. As everybodywell knows medical bills and recovery are extremely costly. In response to this tragic event we are asking our community to please support Nathan in his time of need. Donations of any amount would be greatly appreciated. Thank you ahead of time for your generosity.

Good Afternoon Family and Friends,
First Nathan and I want to thank everyone for their generous contributions when we were first facing this horrible incident that would turn into many months of surgeries and rehabilitation. Nathan has been in quite the predicament. I am coming to everyone with an update and to ask for your help once more. Nathan and I feel very uncomfortable to be coming to our community once again but are faced with not many options.
Many of you know that shortly after Nathan was originally discharged from the hospital he was admitted back due to a MRSA infection that required surgery and a week or so of IV antibiotics. He was relieved to be released after around a month and a half straight in the hospital. Unfortunately, little did we know this would be the first of many visits back to the ER due to extreme pain and swelling. He has been admitted now three times due to an abscess that has caused him extreme pain and swelling.
Nathan is back in the hospital as of Monday, September 14th with once again, the MRSA infection. The doctors have been trying to treat his infection conservatively with a steady regimen of antibiotics. With this third and hopefully final visit back in the hospital resulting from a puss filled face and extreme pain. Which to no surprise is MRSA, it has been determined that the MRSA has colonized on the hardware that was placed to hold his orbital bone in place.
Yesterday, Nathan had an emergency surgery for the surgeon to go in and remove the hardware as his body is not strong enough to fight off the infection from the foreign object. The surgery went as well as it could go. The bone graphs that were held up by the infected hardware are partially intact which was to the surgeon’s surprise. Now starts another long road to recovery. He will require multiple follow-ups, medicine, and surgery. They are unable to continue any surgeries until the infection is completely cleared. His scar tissue is not fully there and he faces potential eye complications. Right now, Nathan is in extreme pain and is very discouraged.
With the infection, pain, and constant doctor visits Nathan has had an extremely hard time getting back into the work force. He was let go from his place of work where the incident took place around a month or so after his return and the CVA did not assist as we were told. He is very discouraged and feels as though he is drowning in medical bills, medicine payment, and constant bumps in his road to recovery. He has very little resources right now and cannot keep his basic needs a float. I am coming to the community to see if there is something we can do to help him feel this is a fight worth fighting. Any contributions or prayers would be greatly appreciated. We just hope he soon is in a secure and healthy place. Thank you for taking a moment to read this update. Have a great day.

Nathan's surgery went well, it was postponed until today at around 7:00am and he is out and recovering. He will be in the hospital until Friday so that the doctors can watch his progress and insure that he stays infection free. Please continue with prayers. Thank you very much for your support during this hard time.

Nathan's surgery on New Year's went well. Nathan was admitted on December 31st due to infection and extreme pain. Yesterday it was confirmed that the infection Nathan has is staph. He will be undergoing one more clean-out surgery today at around 4:00pm and then will be watched for three more days in the hospital on the antibiotics to insure the staph infection does not return. Nathan is going on three weeks in the hospital now and is discouraged that this infection popped up. Please continue to share this link and pray for Nathan.

Thank you.
