Garcia~ Hurricane Maria Relief

As most of you know my Husbands parents Nancy and Guillermo Garcia were hit with Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico last week. We had been anxiously awaiting for a sign that they made it through safely. Calling the house and neighbors and friends and loved ones to get any information to no avail. Watching from a distance through the news seeing apocalyptic conditions being reported. We finally were able to connect to them momentarily Sunday 9/24! They are ok. There is damage but the house is still standing. Still no power and a lot of work to be done to bring it back to what it was. The roads are being cleared but the stores are empty and life is far from being back to "normal". They spent all of Wednesday throwing buckets of water out of the house as the winds were so strong the  rain was coming in sideways through the windows. We still haven't gotten enough information to fully asses the damage as the land line connection isn't good at all and it's hard to hear. We do know that the lower level of the home was blown out and has damage and needs repair. They are tired at 70 and 75 there is only so much physical work that they can do. They are on a fixed income of social security and without power and modern accomodations for an unknown period of time. We set this up in hopes to raise some money to help with repairs, food, supplies and any other necessities they need as they start to rebuild. Anything that is not used for the Garcia household will be used for the surrounding community and friends and loved ones in Puerto Rico to help in anyway that is needed as the island rebuilds not only it's homes and structures but it's heart. Any amount will help and is so very much appreciated by us all. We hope to go down and help once the airports start allowing commercial flights on the island.
