Queens Synagogue At Risk - S.O.S.

Donation protected
The Ozone Park Jewish Center, a haimish Orthodox shul located in Ozone Park Queens, was founded in 1933.  It flourished for many years, supported by a vibrant congregation of 300 members.

Fast forward to 2014.  Due to changing demographics and time, our membership has dwindled while the cost of maintaining the building has risen. The odds against us, we survive.  We have services and kiddishes.  What we don't have, is $12,000 to fix our air conditioning.

We rent out our "ballroom" for Zumba and ballroom dancing classes.  This income keeps us going.  Without air conditioning, this income will go away, and our beautiful synagogue may be lost.

On the High Holidays, we see many otherwise unaffiliated people attend services.  All are welcomed with open arms.  We have been here for the community for 81 years, and we want to be here for 81 more!

Please help us save this special house of worship.   We welcome donations of any amount.  Great opportunity to do a MEGA MITZVAH!
