Jacob's Care

Jacob just turned 1-year old September 10, 2018 at his temporary home at Broad River animal Hospital in Weaverville, NC. He was hit by a truck 5 weeks ago. Jacob sustained a serious spinal injury and was unable to feel or move his back legs voluntarily. His family loved him very much but was unable to provide the level of care he needed.
The staff at Broad River Animal Hospital could not bare to give up on Jacob. His spirit, sweetness and ability to make us laugh captured our hearts and continue to amaze us.
With lots of dedicated medical and nursing care, including acupuncture, daily physical therapy and laser treatments, Jacob now has some movement in his back legs, but he still has a long way to go. The hospital purchased a cart and other orthopedic supplies from "Walkin' Wheels" that arrived this week. He is learning to use his cart!
Our ultimate goal is to find Jacob his forever home. Before we can do that, he needs surgery for a damaged hip and further therapy.
