MICHAEL'S SMILING STARFISH
HI!!! We are Michael's Smiling Starfish. This organization has been created in honor of one amazing young man who was taken from our sight way to early in life at a very young age of 22. His battle with brain cancer ended on Feb. 26, 2014 when he took that final earthly breathe and earned his heavenly wings.
Our Mission is to make a difference one smile at a time, continuing Michael's legacy to give to others selflessly. Michael's smiles were always the greatest when he was making others smile, this of course being the smile he has passed on to his beautiful daughter Anna.
Our goal with our organization is to become 501c3 certified as well as we already have several projects in the works to make people smile.
We have one family who sadly has a member of the family fighting for their life facing stage 4 lung cancer. They are in the process of moving to a more affordable location, however the cost of the move is also difficult. They need assistance with some items such as a lift chair and clothing. This family is amazing and have already fought and won cancer battles over the last 8 years. Their anniversary is coming up soon and we would also like to bring a smile to their face with a fantastic celebration.
Our next couple that we are currently working to assist has wedding in the works and thought they were going to have to cancel only two weeks away because of a job loss. However we do not like to see people without a smile, especially one who has fought cancer battles herself and recently became a new mommy. So Michael's Smiling Starfish believes that just because of finances they should NOT have to postpone their dream day! After the wedding the soon to be husband is planning to adopt the baby he already claims in his heart as his own.
Yes all of these things take money and we need your HELP!!!! Please help us and know that all donations are greatly appreciated. Any amount helps us to reach our goal and to help others more and more to bring out the smiles of the world.
