Bring Star Home!

Star and Alex were vacationing in Italy for their anniversary, before he is deploying to the middle east for one year. On the day before their return flight, Star had to be rushed to the ER. She has a pulmonary embolism (blood clot in lung) and acute bronchial pneumonia. She has spent several days in ICU. In order for her to fly back to the United States, she must be accompanied by a flight nurse.

Star is an amazing person with a huge heart. If you know her, you know she never meets a stranger.  Unfortunately, they have to pay for the flight nurse upfront and have to pay hospital expenses before being released. The flight nurse alone, is around $10K, as well as additional travel expenses to change their flights, and upgrade their seats to business class so Star can lay down during the flight. They also have to get their vehicle and children back home after returning to the United States.
