Marcos Fuentes Family Medical Fund

With a heavy heart, we are sad to announce that; Marcos Fuentes passed away peacefully at the age of 66 on February 18, 2017 due to a massive stroke.  He was born on September 26, 1950 in Pierdas Negras, Mexico to Eusebio and Francisca Fuentes.   Marcos spent the early part of his childhood in Eagle Pass, Texas, and later would move west with his family following crops as migrant farm laborers.  Thanks to the move, he met his teenage sweetheart, and fellow Eagle Pass transplant, Tules Contreras; they were married on July of 1968 in Payette, Idaho.    Soon after their marriage, they continued working as migrant laborers throughout Oregon and Washington. Marcos and Tules eventually decided to settle down in Nyssa to raise their family.  Marcos loved watching and attending professional sporting events. He loved everything from basketball to NASCAR, but there was nothing he loved more than attending a sporting event involving his kids or grandkids.  Marcos loved his work whether it was farming or later as a Car Salesman; he had a tireless work ethic, and as many have said, “He was the hardest working man they have ever known.”  For many years, Marcos worked in agriculture starting with Atagi Farms and later for Hartley Farms. It suited his hard work ethic.  He later fell into the Car Sales Business after being asked to translate for another customer while he was in the dealership shopping for a car for himself.  He began his sales career at Sunset Toyota for Rick Denson; a few years later the dealership was changed to Hometown Toyota, and he worked for Steve Dominguez ever since. He also shared a passion for Tejano Music with the love of his life and would frequently take her to music conventions in Las Vegas.  He truly enjoyed taking Tules dancing every Friday night to the Blue Eye where they would meet up with close friends and dance the night away.

Preceded in death by his father Eusebio Fuentes, sister Lupe Parra, and brother Eusebio Jr. Fuentes.  He is survived by his mother Francisca Fuentes, sisters: Yolanda Hernandez, Sophia Fuentes Guillen, Veronica Fuentes, Gracie Fuentes, Maria Landry and Maria Fuentes,  brothers: Daniel Fuentes, Gilbert Fuentes, Rick Fuentes, Arturo Fuentes. He also leaves behind his childhood sweetheart and wife Tules of 48 years, daughter Rachel and husband Rick Reyna, son Marcos Jr. and wife Elizabeth, son Gabriel and wife Angelica, and son Mike and wife Precila, and his 8 little angels: Olivia 3, Miah 6, Demetrius 9, Noah 9, Carmello 10, Isaiah 13, Lorenzo 15, and Jaylin 18.

The family will receive family and friends at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the Catholic Church of St. Bridget’s, 504 Locust Ave, Nyssa, OR 97913.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 24, 11:00 a.m., at the Catholic Church of St. Bridget’s, 504 Locust Ave, Nyssa, OR 97913, with Father Christie officiating.  Burial at Nyssa Hilltop Memorial Cemetery.  The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care shown to us the by the community, friends and most of all family.
