The Morris Family

Stephanie Morris is my friend and co-worker of 17 years.  When I met Stephanie,  I was a Speech Pathologist who worked with students in the Autism classroom.  I popped in and out taking students for therapy.  It didn’t take long to see Stephanie’s talent, dedication, and conviction in working with her students. She wore many hats in the Autism room……teacher, leader, mother, organizer, advocate, facilitator, and lifeline to countless families and students she served.   It was the hardest job in the building, yet she did it with grace, poise, compassion, patience and lots of love and skill.

We became quick friends and enjoyed our lunches together and after-school fun.  I had no idea the friendship we were creating would be one of the most important and valuable in my life.  Through the years Steph has been more than a friend, she has been a mentor, a voice of reason, a cheerleader, a listener, a partner in crime, someone I could always count on, and someone I always want to be with.  And I’m just a girlfriend.

Stephanie’s heart belongs to her family.  She is a devoted and loving daughter, sister, wife, niece, aunt, and cousin. She took on a new role in life one and half years ago when she and Dan adopted their precious Genevieve.  God couldn’t have chosen more loving parents for Miss G.

Stephanie is truly one of the most thoughtful, loving, and generous people I have ever known… all who know her would agree.  NOW, is our chance to GIVE BACK TO STEPHANIE.

Stephanie has been battling colon cancer for over a year.  She has done 2 different full courses of chemotherapy, 1 course of radiation, battled Staph infections, C-diff, and has encountered many other obstacles along the way.  Resigning her job as a Special Educator was one of the hardest things she ever did, but it had to be done to focus on her treatment.

Currently, her days are filled with doctor appointments, treatments, occupational therapy, physical therapy, therapeutic massage, acupuncture and support groups. Her nights are reserved for her husband and daughter.  She fights every day to beat this disease. We are extremely proud of her courage and strength, not to mention her good spirit.

Our hope is that we can help ease the financial burden of treatment, medication, therapies, childcare, and house maintenance, during this challenging time and in the future.

We would greatly appreciate any potential financial contribution to the Morris Family.
