Fuxiao and Yan moved to Portland in 2015 for Fuxiao to begin the full-time PSU MBA program. Over this time, Fuxiao has been an important member of the PSU community, as a member of the full-time graduating cohort of 2017, a graduate assistant, and a member of the winning ACG Cup Northwest team. In late 2016, Fuxiao's wife Yan gave birth to their second daughter, Jennifer.
In May 2017, Yan was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and began receiving treatment here in Portland. Fuxiao and Yan were joined by their families, who traveled from China to be with them at this difficult time. Yan is now going through a second round of chemotherapy, hoping to extend her life. Their two daughters, Jessica (4 years old) and Jennifer (6 months old) have been sent to China with their grandparents so that Fuxiao can focus on taking care of Yan, who is now too ill to travel.
Our Portland State University School of Business community would like to support Yan and Fuxiao through this difficult time by providing assistance with hospital bills and travel costs for their daughters and families. Please support Fuxiao and Yan by clicking the “Donate Now” button on this page.
