Furnace Funding Help

Donation protected
Michigan winters are cold without heat.

During the evening of New Years Day, we realized our furnace was blowing cold air. After checking the pilot light and making sure the gas bill was paid, we had our local amazing furnace guy come by and check to make sure it wasn't a blown limiter switch(again). Sadly, he had much worse news for us...our heat exchanger was cracked. We knew the furnace was nearing the end of it's useful life span. We knew it wasn't the right size for our house. We knew that eventually, it would have to be replaced.

That replacement needs to happen now.

That's pretty unfortunate, because it's after Christmas and nobody has any money.

I've gotten a lot of suggestions - try xyz finance company! Nope, credit too bad. Try xyz assistance agency! Nope, income too  good. I'm really grateful for all the suggestions we've gotten, and I've followed them all to the end, so far.

I'm looking at $2,800 to replace my furnace. *Since GoFundMe's platform has been down, I've received about $1,025 in donations to my paypal account, which is now taken off the top of my GoFundMe amount. Our daycare provider also knocked $125 off of our bill for next week as a contribution. As I continue to receive donations via paypal, I will continue to update the total on this fundraiser.*

Right now, we are using a couple of space heaters. Upstairs, we can only heat one room at a time or it blows the breaker. With two space heaters last night, our house was 57 degrees. Not too shabby. However, colder weather is coming. Good, solid pipe bursting weather. And rotating one space heater through the upstairs with seven people in the house is not ideal, to say the least.

I'm still exploring avenues like trying to find a co-signer so I can qualify for a loan. The furnace guy says he can have the furnace installed and ready to go on Monday. There's just that little problem of payment standing in the way....Anyway, if you have $5 to throw towards keeping a family of 4 and sometimes  a family of 7 warm, it would be *much* appreciated. What a terrible way to end the holidays.

For those who are seeing this shared by a friend, we are: two (full time) working, able bodied adults, one in school part time to create a better future. A set of 14 month old twin boys (who hate keeping their socks on). Part time custody of: a 7.5 year old girl, a 5 year old girl, and a 14 year old boy.
