Funeral for Richard Ibanez

Friends and Family, This last Tuesday, September 25,2018; Chenoa, Sunni, and Tristan lost there father Richard Ibanez, suddenly and unexpectedly. In what I can absolutely say without a doubt, was the worst day of our lives, we received a distraught call from Sunni, who had just been told that  her father had taken his own life. After telling Chenoa; who was on her way to school, and Tristan, who was changing his baby's diaper, that their father had killed himself; Rene, Mia, and I jumped in the car and drove to Napa to help Sunni , arriving at 3:30am.  Those of you that met Richi know what an amazing father and friend he was, and those of you that know my children, can see HIS heart, HIS compassion, HIS kindness, and HIS unwavering loyalty, shining through in everything they do. Richi loved his children and grandchildren so much. He provided generously for them; and all the people he loved until his dying day.  In today's society when families are broken, and men walk away, Richi provided  for me and our children for 17 years after our divorce. He moved us to the bay area, so that his children could stay close to him, and worked tirelessly to make sure they always had everything they wanted. His compassion and strong sense of family allowed for me to be able to be a stay at home mom, and give my children the childhood they deserved. I don't think I ever heard him say no to anybody, not once, not in 29 years. I wish he had known how much he meant to us. I wish he had understood how important he was to all of us, and how admired he was. We are planning services here in the bay area where Richi, Sunni, Diego  and baby Emiliano  live. The children would like to give him the send off he deserves, and provide everyone with an opportunity to say goodbye. Asking for money is a pride swallowing endeavor, and something we hoped we wouldnt have to do. Simply put we need help. It's a lot, and we cannot do it alone.
