Funeral Expenses for Mike Eyia
Donation protected
Our dear friend, brother, son, and extraordinary saxaphone player recently passed away Friday, February 16th at around 2 AM. Mike Eyia was a very accomplished and successful musician in the Los Angeles music scene. His tragic death was a shock to his family, friends, and colleagues.
I am a good friend of Mike's and wanted to setup this GoFundMe page to help his family with all of the costs of his burial and funeral. As a friend, my heart breaks for his family. The only thing I can do to help is to make their lives a little bit easier during this tragic time. We would like to host a memorial for him in Los Angeles, and his family would like to have a funeral for him in his hometown, Detroit, Michigan. Between figuring out costs for these, and paying for last minute airfare, I can only imagine that the thousands of dollars in expenses can only add to the stress on his family.
All of the money donated to this account will go directly to his parents to assist them with these unfortunate tasks at hand.
Mike achieved more in his short life than any other musician I know personally. He's played Madison Square Garden, Red Rock Ampitheater, toured the world, and played with several impressive "A" list artists. We went to college at the University of New Orleans and both moved to California after Hurricane Katrina. We have played music together and been friends ever since. There are very few people in the world that are given a gift as precious and astounding as his. I urge you to YouTube "Mike Eyia" and checkout some of his outstanding work.
Thank you for your time and consideration reading this. Thank you so very much for your kind hearted generosity if you do indeed decide to donate. Every little bit will help his family during this horrible time.
Sincerely,
Ryan
