Words are inadequate to convey our grief right now and the devastation we are enduring as a family. Our minds and hearts are still trying to process it. Our oldest son, Anthony Nelson Jr., succumbed to his battle with mental illness. His five-year struggle grew progressively worse and he was presumably no longer able to bear it. We need all the prayer, love and support we can get to hold our souls upright. Compounding our agony is the financial component. Because of the circumstances of Anthony Jr’s death, the life insurance policy will not cover the expenses. So now with our inexplicable and sudden grief, we now also have a significant financial burden. We have nothing but prayer and hope in the Lord, and the love of friends, family and saints to help us manage the weight of grief. But to handle the sudden financial weight, we have created this GoFund Me. We are a private family who overcomes in silence. We usually grit our teeth, hold hands and get through what life throws at us together. But this is too much, all at once. So here we are, willing to be vulnerable, leaning on your kindness and generosity in the most trying time of our lives. Anthony’s biological mother, Laneava Blanks is suffering the greatest pain as Anthony was her first born and only son. She will need the effectual fervent prayers of the righteous to help her through this difficult time.
