This is Tiki.
Tiki was found with his mum Jade in the same area as Smokey. Tiki has the same condition as Smokey. This is a rare condition so to see it once was shocking enough but twice was astounding. We believe there is a connection between Smokey and Tiki. Both are the same age. Both have the same eye condition. They are born without eyelids which is believed to be caused by a rogue gene that both mum and dad carry. As well as no eyelids the condition can affect them in many other ways as it has done with smokey. Tiki currently has conjunctivitis which is being treated with antibiotic eye drops. He will be travelling up to Scotland in the next week or so. Until this clears no surgery can go ahead. We also have mum in our rescue. She will also be tested to check and although early signs are she’s ok. We prefer for her to be looked at also by the eye specialist.
One consult fee alone is £170. That’s before any surgery. We appreciated all that was done for Smokey and we hope you will help us so we can fund the surgery for Tiki. We as a rescue really hate asking for funds. We work hard on fundraising for the other cats in the rescue but when a special needs one comes in. We just cannot cover it with normal rescue funds.
