Fundraising for Hudeyfah's family and Macmillan

Donation protected

Hudeyfah is a handsome, articulate and brave, 10-year-old boy who was recently diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and he is also my son, Aadam’s close friend and team-mate in the school football team.  News of the  Lymphoma in his stomach has shaken the school community, and everyone has rallied together to provide practical support to the family.  Many kind parents and children have been consistent in visiting Hudeyfah to lift his spirits and bring a smile to his face as he has no extended family in the UK.  I can only imagine how difficult this would be without grand-parents, uncles and aunties to help ease the burden on both parents.

This has been a difficult and heart-wrenching time for the family who had never considered that either one of their otherwise healthy children would be affected by such an illness.  Their whole family routine has been turned on its head, as frequent stays at the hospital and being kept in isolation due to infection, has meant that his father cannot work nights anymore and is currently in receipt of sick pay which is due to be significantly reduced!  One can only imagine the added burden and stress of worrying about bills and overheads while your child is so poorly in hospital.  Furthermore, trips back and forth to the hospital and daily car journeys will entail considerable costs too.  Lastly, I understand that his paternal family do not have the means to be able to travel to the UK to visit Hudeyfah therefore whatever funds we raise could possibly be used to support their flights.

Hudeyfah’s chemotherapy treatment started immediately and this has taken its toll on his energy levels, appetite and mood.  He has also begun to lose his hair which can be a testing time. To show they stand with him in his battle against his illness,  Aadam along with Hudeyfah’s younger brother, Luqman (pictured with him above), desperately want to show their solidarity and support by publicly shaving their heads. The would like to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Trust and funds to help the family with their day to day finances while Hudeyfah is receiving treatment.   Hudeyfah’s story has further touched my own family as my older son, Isa and his cousins, Sami and Luqman have also pledged to shave their heads when the target amount has been reached.

Al-Nu’man ibn Bashir reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The parable of the believers in their affection, mercy, and compassion for each other is that of the body.  When any limb aches, the whole body reacts with sleeplessness and fever”.

(Sahih Al-Bukhari 5665, Sahih Muslim 2586)

I trust you will donate generously to this noble cause and keep Hudeyfah in your prayers that he is able to achieve his goal of becoming a Doctor in the future:

“O Allah, the Lord of the people! Remove the trouble and heal the patient for You are the Healer.  No healing is of any avail but Yours, healing that will leave behind no ailment”. (Ameen)

The amount raised will be split 50-50 between the family and Macmillan Cancer Trust.

I pray your donation weighs heavily on your scale of good deeds on the Day of Judgement.

Peace and Blessings
