Prayers and Donation needed for Shawn Hallgren

My son was diagnosed with a Carcinoid  LungTumor ten years ago. He has been in and out of the hospital and has endured multiple surgeries. His last surgery before this current one last week was 6 years ago. That resulted in the doctor breaking off part of his rib. For the past 4 years he's been seeking medical help to try and find out the cause of his debilitating pain. Several specialists, therapies, and treatments finally gave him a diagnosis of a three inch gap in his rib that had originally  started as a 3mm break. The broken  rib was bending inward in his chest.  The surgeon was reluctant to take his case, but finally agreed to operate. Shawn has a past history of rare complications where  he ends up with life threatening and serious infections. At one point he was on a ventilator. His hands were handcuffed to the bed and we didn't  think he was going to survive. As a mom I can tell you that seeing your son on a ventilator is an image you just can't ever get out of your mind and it stays with you forever. The surgery last week went well. He was home in four days and the doctor fixed a shoulder that wasn't moving properly, realigned and stitched together muscles that were balled up, misplaced and over stretched.  Sunday he felt a weird pop in his lung and then his right side of his body started to swell. The swelling affected his airways, abdomen, stomach and groin. The pain was excruciating. He ended up  right back in the hospital for five more days. He was told that his case is very rare and that he's had more chest surgeries then all the patients on the hospital floor combined. Shawn is now  home with a chest tube and home health visits. Hes on six different medications and drains the tube twice a day. His occupation is home remodeling and flooring. His passion is to turn an old house that's in need of TLC  and repair into something beautiful. He has the kindest heart and soul. He started his own company with a friend in June. They have been growing their business and are on a successful path. But, right now he is unable to work for at least the next 8 weeks.  All of his life savings,  blood, sweat and tears went into this company to get it started. I am humbly asking for donations for him  for survival, medications, transportation, and on going medical bills.  He will need physical therapy and rehab.  So many courageous battles he has fought over the past ten years. But because of the intense pain  from the broken rib and torn muscles he has been unable to work to his full capabilities. He pushed his body hard and is one of the hardest working person that I know. My prayer is that his body heals and he can help his company stay a float until he can get back to work. He is on medical leave for two months. If you are able to help even if it's something small, anything would be appreciated. So many people have asked what they can do to help and this would help tremendously. I want him to focus on healing and resting and not rush back into physical work because he is afraid of losing everything. This money will sustain him and give peace of mind. He does not have insurance and Medicaid is what we are relying on and have no idea what we be covered and will not.  Cancer changes a person forever. You have to be strong and be a warrior to survive it. It teaches you to not sweat the small things, show compassion to others that are struggling and not take for granted one moment of your life. Even during the storm he  finds the positive and stays focused on his goals. Thank you to all who are praying for him and to anyone who can help with a donation to a alievate some financial burden. We are eternally grateful for each and everyone of you and need you.  Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. All my love and gratitude  and love~Kathy (Proud mother of the warrior)
