George Freeland-Haynes is 12 years old, lives in downtown Toronto with his mother, Katie Freeland, and recently lost his Dad, musician Justin Haynes.
Justin was a creative and prolific musician and composer who struggled mightily with his mental health and with addiction.
His friends are hoping to raise money for George as a small gesture in remembrance of his father, whose love for his son never faltered, even if there were things he could not offer him. George will continue to suffer this loss, but he may find some comfort in singing lessons. Or a vacation. Or, frankly, in whatever he wants to do with the money. Living with Justin was hard, but living without him is much harder.
