From 300lbs to Running Strong!

Currently, I'm 172 lbs and I want to fill every Saturday with a run! I want to keep eating healthy! However, most of them cost money for registration fees and gas to get there. Shoes cost money, and smaller clothes cost money! So I'm asking for help to run a 5K every weekend, and to keep on being healthy!

Not long ago, I went to the doctor and weighed in at 305lbs. It was shocking! How did I let myself go like that?
One bite at a time. One TV show at a time. One hour in front of the computer at a time. I used food to comfort my pain and lonliness.

I began to work to lose the weight. Like most, I've lost weight, then gained it all back and more. I got down to 250lb, then back up to 290. I got down to 270, then back up to 285.
I met my husband, Jon, 3 1/2 years ago. He loved me, just as I was. His love gave me the strength to love myself. In September of 2013, I was 265 lbs and diagnosed with diabetes, I knew I had to take care of my weight or I wouldn't be able to enjoy the rest of my life with my husband and kids.

I met with a nutritionist and trainer. I began working out. I lost about 20 lbs before having bariatric surgery in July of 2014. Within a month of surgery, I began running. I never ran before, because my belly would clap against my thighs and embarrass me. Now, it felt GREAT!
In September of 2014, I ran my first 5k. What a terrifying and wonderful experience that was! The next weekend, I ran another... and the weekend after that... and the next... and the next...
