Funding to pay for pain specialist

I have been suffering from debilitation back pain (with a few sporadic breaks here and there) for over 10 years. Mostly caused, but not limited to, a bulging disc L4/L5. I need to spend an extended period of time receiving physical therapy from a back pain specialist on the Gold Coast. In the last 15 years I have spent tens of thousands of dollars and tried countless different disciplines and therapists in Melbourne to no avail.

The therapist on the Gold Coast, Steve Lockhart,  is a world renowned back pain specialist that I have had treatment from before. He has made a big difference with the short amounts of time I have spent with him in the past. It has only been a lack of finances that has prevented me from consistent ongoing treatment.

There are other treatments that I will probably have to utilize in conjunction with Steve's therapy. Things like Pilates and yoga which can also be expensive

I am at a stage now where I have been house bound for more than a year. I am confident that if I can work with Steve for an uninterrupted, consistent period of time, I can regain my mobility and a better quality of life . I am hoping to start this treatment as soon as possible for the obvious reasons (It's driving me completely bonkers).

I have to say that I feel a certain amount of discomfort asking my friends for this kind of assistance. But if I don't do something about my situation now it is unlikely to improve.

A substantial amount of the cost will be relocating to Queensland, finding accommodation, transport etc  for the duration of the treatment which is undetermined at this time. Quite possibly more than 6 months
