Support Me for My Field Work

I am Binesh Balan, a National Overseas Scholar in Anthropology at University of Sussex. I am getting into Sussex after 3 years of struggle against government bureaucrats who denied my scholarship application for the reason that I born in an indigenous community in northern part of Kerala. Despite my linguistic, social and economic weak background, as a member from indigenous community, I was perpetually motivated by teachers and parents to undergo higher studies when I have completed pre-degree studies. I was highly motivated in the social science disciplines such as Psychology, Religious Studies, Linguistics, Cultural Studies, Philosophy, Theology, History, etc. I particularly enjoy researching and critically analysing throughout these subjects and completed few research papers in different disciplines.
Here, I am writing for your support that make me keep going forward confidently. I am dreaming of my book entitled “The Merrars: Religion and Culture among the Tuluvans of South India” (will be published by Vernon Press in USA) based on my master’s dissertation on “Religion and Funeral Rituals among the Tulu Mavilans of South India”. Although as a sponsored student under National Overseas Scholarship, I am struggling because of shortage of funding for my field work. The estimated expense for this field work is £ 1,000 (aprox) towards my flight charge from London to Kochin and back to London, and other internal expenses during the field work. ഞാൻ ബിനേഷ് ബാലൻ. ഇംഗ്ലണ്ടിലെ സസെക്‌സ്‌ സർവ്വകലാശായിൽ നാഷണൽ ഓവർസീസ് സ്കോളർഷിപ്പിൽ അന്ത്രപ്പോളജിയിൽ ബിരുദാനന്തര ബിരുദ വിദ്യാർത്ഥിയാണ്. ബിരുദാന്തര ബിരുദത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി പ്രൊഫസ്സർ ഫിലിപ്പോ ഓസില്ലയുടെ കീഴിൽ ഒരു ഫീൽഡ് വർക്ക് ഇന്ത്യയിൽ ചെയ്യേണ്ടതായ ആവശ്യം വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു. നിലവിലെ നാഷണൽ ഓവർസീസ് സ്കോളർഷിപ്പിൽ ഞങ്ങൾ 20 വിദ്യാർഥികൾ ആണ് വിദേശ രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ പഠനം നടത്തുന്നത്. എന്നാൽ ഇംഗണ്ടിൽ ഉപരി പഠനം നടക്കുന്ന കാലയളവിൽ പ്രതിമാസം £ 1200 നു പകരം £ 825 പൗണ്ട് ആണ് സ്കോളർത്തിപ്പിൽ ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് നൽകി വരുന്നത്. യൂ കെ യിലെ ജീവിത സാഹചര്യത്തിൽ ഈ തുക തികയാത്തതിനാൽ എന്റെ ഫീൽഡ് വർക്കിന്‌ വേണ്ടി നിങ്ങളുടെ പിന്തുണ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു.

എന്റെ ഫീൽഡ് വർക്ക് "RELIGION AND FUNERAL RITUALS AMONG THE TULU MAVILANS OF SOUTH INDIA" എന്ന വിഷയത്തെ പറ്റിയാണ്. ഈ പഠനത്തെ അടിസ്ഥാനപ്പെടുത്തി "The Merrars: Religion and Culture among the Tuluvans of South India"  എന്ന എന്റെ പുസ്തകം അമേരിക്കയിലെ vernon press ൽ പ്രസിദ്ധികരിക്കും. ഇതിന്റെ തന്നെ "മേറർ: തുളുവരുടെ സംസ്കാരവും മതവും" എന്ന പേരിൽ മലയാളത്തിലും പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കണം എന്നതാണ് ആഗ്രഹം.

ഫീൽഡ് വർക്കിന്റെ പ്രധാന ചിലവ് എന്നത് ലണ്ടനിൽ നിന്നും കൊച്ചിയിലേക്കും തിരിച്ചു ലണ്ടനിലേക്കും ഉള്ള യാത്രാ ചിലവാണ്. അത് കൂടാതെ ഫീൽഡ് വർക്കിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി തന്നെ ഉള്ള മറ്റു ചിലവുകളും ചേർത്ത് £ 1000 പൗണ്ട് ചിലവ് പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കുന്നു. ഏകദേശം 91,500 രൂപ. എല്ലാവരുടെയും സഹകരണം പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കാമല്ലോ..
