Hello, my name is Jesus Martinez, and I have been married to Maria Jose for 11 months in civil marriage and 10 in Catholic marriage, but we have had a relationship for more than 6 years. She is 25 years old and I am 26. We currently live in Houston, TX. We came to live here because of the severe situation in our country. We were working very hard and things were going very well.
A month ago, we moved to our own apartment, which made us feel very happy. At the same time, Maria Jose started to present a dry cough, difficulties when walking and going upstairs which made her feel very tired. Also, she was having difficulties to breathe and lying on bed. We went to a communitarian Hispanic clinic where they check her respiratory tract, injected her with corticosteroids and prescribe her an oral treatment and an inhaler for 10 days. She got better and was able to go back to work, but she continued to have the dry cough without any flame. Approximately a week ago, on October 3rd, she started to sweat with fever. We waited for our free day on Monday, October 10th, when she had thoracic x-rays taken as prescribed, and after taking them to the clinic we were immediately referred to the hospital because of a lung collapse and severe pleural effusion. We have been 3 days in the West Houston Medical Center already, where they are taking care of her. They started with chest x-rays and cat scan with not very encouraging results. Yesterday, Tuesday October 11th, they placed a tube in her chest in order to drain the pleural liquid to perform a cytology to find the cause. The prognosis is not very promising, since it could be the word nobody wants to hear and that I won't be writing here because we trust it is not going to be it. We already have 3 full days in the hospital.
I had to leave my job to be with her and right now we don't have any kind of income, they are treating here at the hospital although we don't have a life insurance, the bill is already in a very high amount which we are not able to pay, in addition to the cost of living of both of us. I am asking for your help from the bottom of my heart in order to be able to stand firm in this fight we already started and to be able to pay the costs of this hospital and what would be a further treatment after the diagnosis. We will keep you informed by updating the details of my wife's status and may God repay you with health and happiness.

Thank you very much for everything.
