Chris Stanley was lost in the Mississippi River on April 25, 2017. He was found May 4, 2017. Chris graduated posthumously with a B.S. in Neurobiology from the University of Minnesota in May, 2017. He was a beautiful soul. I plan to share his immense love for people and for creation and to share my own hope, peace, faith and love in the midst of my tremendous sorrow. I could do this trip for very little cost. However, people want to join me along the way, a few people for the entire trip and many for a day or a week.

Chris was an avid biker and environmentalist. He had been planning to bike the Mississippi River Trail from Minneapolis to the Gulf Coast upon graduation. I will be doing this ride in his memory beginning Labor Day, 2018, and the funds you are donating will be used to make this ride happen.

I am a pastor and I told Chris he was going to be a preacher someday. Just after Chris had graduated from high school in 2013, he found his dad convulsing with a hemorrhagic stroke. It was then that Chris began to write poetry and meditate as he sought to find peace. Chris's dad is doing pretty well. He lives in a group home and misses Chris tremendously. Chris is also survived by his younger brother, Austin, and loving family and many friends.

(See below for a breakdown of costs and gifts~after the Spanish translation).

Chris wrote this poem on his way to the Climate March in NYC in 2014. I changed the word "bus" to "bike" in honor of this ride. Along the way, I hope to meet others, to hear their stories, to learn from them, and also to preach, teach and share.

This Bus (Bike) Is Fueled By Love

This bike is fueled by love
shared by all the people
of the world colored green,
wide like the sky.

This bike is fueled by love
raining from the clouds
they try to put above us
but the clouds always pass.

This bike is fueled by love,
these people live on kindness
they always share a smile
they always shine so bright.

This bike is fueled by love,
by love we can prevail,
this is how to start a movement,
by love we cannot fail.
