Homelessness & The LGBT Community

2 years ago I formed a non profit called Hummingbird HIV & Aids with a vision of a future of mattering. There are so many organization that spends millions on awareness. I have a unique spin on awareness by providing scholarships for infected individuals and kids and young adults. The statics are staggering and most recently infected indivuals have no formal education; an education allows you to have a different conversation hence making different choices. 

After getting involved in so many things to get this off and running I realized that my vision has expanded and the name Hummingbird limits what I'm up to. I've now changed the name to "I Am Me 7" and the 7 represents completion.  I am doing a documentary shedding light on homelessness as 85% of homeless children are LGBT youths. I've toured the Ali Forney Center and my heart was heavy after.  Its time for us to foster collaboration with other organizations to achieve a greater goal around helping our children.   

I will be entering my documentary in the Tribeca Film Festival hoping to create a buzz on this message. What's not being said is that religious organizations are turning away our children because of their sexual orientation.  We are all created in his image and God is love and he who does not love does not know God.

The monies raised will allow me to complete my website and used as administrative cost for the film.
