Francine's Mission Trip to Tanzania

Dear family, friends, and well-wishers,
This coming summer on July 08th, I am planning on participating in a mission trip to Africa. Our group will be traveling to Arusha, Tanzania in East Africa to help with the continued building of an orphanage for children. Many of them homeless because of the AIDS epidemic or have been abandoned. Havilah Village Children’s Orphanage was started in 2005 by Global Vessels, Inc., a non-profit Christian organization. My desire to participate in this mission trip comes from a place of gratitude and obligation. Gratitude because I was once an orphan. At the early age of one years old, I lost both my mom and dad in a heinous act of violence. Thankfully, God sent my guardian angel to protect me as I moved from place to place. Hence my sense of obligation. God saved me. He sent my paternal grandmother, and her husband, to rescue from a life that was sure to be filled with hardship and continued trauma. I can’t think of a better way to thank my mama and my God for their grace and mercy.
I am hoping you would sponsor me with a tax deductible financial donation. Each participant is responsible for raising $3,275. An initial deposit of $300 secures my space until the additional funds are paid. Thankfully I have paid my deposit. The next payment of $1,000 is due on March 28th (the complete payment list is below).
Realizing that there is such a great need to help children worldwide, encourages me to be part of the solution. While there is a great need here at home, the need is ten times greater in Tanzania. It’s clear that we can’t fix the whole world, but we can plant a seed, just like the one my mama planted in my life. My hope is that these children will someday go out and plant a seed for someone else.
This will be a life changing experience for all involved. I know for me being able to give back by connecting with the children of Havilah Village Orphanage is the best way I can say thank you to God for allowing me to survive life as an orphan. Being a sponsor makes you part of the solution, which will make a difference in these young children’s life. I need your help to go there and do the work God has placed in my heart.
