Dear Friends,

I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your extraordinary generosity and thoughtfulness during what has been this most difficult and long ordeal.

Please know that I had originally planned on writing a personal note of thanks to each of you when I returned home but unfortunately I have remained in the hospital and at rehab facilities for the last ten months and have yet to experience the comfort of my own home in Hyde Park.

What started out as a simple knee replacement in May of last year led to major health complications. Due to the damage caused by the sepsis infection and the multiple surgeries, and skin and muscle grafts required on my leg, I have not been able to begin the physical therapy that would allow me to return to independent living. And as much as I embrace the adage that “this too shall pass” I have just been informed that the infection has returned and that I will require additional surgery and additional months of rehabilitation.

Please know that your generous gifts to me through the GoFundMe campaign – and the many loving and kind remarks that accompanied your donation – meant more to me than you will ever know. I was indeed humbled and more than taken aback by your outpouring of both financial and emotional support.

I often think back to our early days at the AIDS Walk and recall with both sadness and fondness how we would end the day at the Hatch Shell with the playing of “That’s What Friends Are For.” Those lyrics have all the more special meaning to me today because of your incredible kindness.

With my deepest and most sincere appreciation,

Larry Kessler

Dear Friends,

We are writing to thank you for your generosity during a most difficult and long seven months for our friend Larry Kessler. Your support and thoughtful messages continue to boost his spirits.

Larry intends to thank each of you when he returns home. But despite months of physical therapy, he lacks the physical strength to live independently, so remains in a rehab facility – interrupted by occasional hospital stays.
Since June, Larry’s GoFundMe campaign has raised $44,326 toward our $50,000 goal. Your donations have sustained him – but the funds have been exhausted by extraordinary medical expenses, including ambulance services, rehab facilities, hospital costs and prescriptions.

When we set our goal, we anticipated Larry would be well and back in his Hyde Park home by the Fall – contributing once again to the community. Since that’s not the case, he needs our continued support. If you are able to make another donation, Larry will greatly appreciate it. Click here to donate: http://bit.ly/2uIS0Yy.
Also, we must get the word out to those who love Larry but haven’t yet heard about the campaign. Please post the GoFundMe link http://bit.ly/2uIS0Yy on Facebook and other social media.

Thank you for being as generous as possible.

Harry Collings, Jack Armitage, Jeanne Blake, Steve Boswell, Pat Daoust, Richard Giglio, Dorothy Keville, Richard Knox, Liz Page, Bryan Rafanelli, Gary Sandison and Cheryl Schaffer

Thanks for the latest picture. Please tell Larry that I am so sorry I can't contribute right now-just paid for half of my daughter's 2nd wedding...this time to another woman! All is good...but I'm happy to offer my guest suite in Sarasota for the rest of his recuperation. Ask Harry and Liz to stick our guy in a van and come on down...

Larry: you have been the epitome of perseverance for all of us, and many of us would not be here, if it weren't for your support.
