Historic Sites include - Martin L. King Jr, Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt, Lincoln, WW II, Korean, Vietnam Veterans, U.S. State Capital, Smithsonian Institutes, Monuments & Memorials, National Zoo, (White House & African American History Center photo stops)
Travel motor coach, food, room, depart Thurs. after dinner @ rec. center, Fri. & Sat. breakfast, Fri. & Sat hot buffet dinners, Fri. picnic lunch at a nearby lake and Fri. & Sat. tours.
The Friends of Collier Heights Park (FCHP) was established in 2004-05 with a goal of revitalizing Collier Heights Park by implementing sustainable healthy lifestyle programs for the community surrounding this metro-Atlanta park.
Now in its 15th year, FCHP’s programming has expanded to include:
“Sites Beyond Their Horizon”, an enrichment program designed to actively engage and empower youth, ages 6-12, through educational, local and national level civic activities. The program inspires youth to become whole, productive, contributing citizens and future leaders by exposing them to experiences outside of their present day environments through travel, music, math, reading, science and technology. The educational program, will serve youth participants from area schools.
