Malinda Rhea Cancer Healing Project
Thank you for taking a moment to read about our family and we hope you will click on the video above. Before we get into specifics, let us introduce ourselves. Our names are Breanna, Elyssa, and Kristen, the proud daughters of Brian and Malinda Rhea. For as long as we can remember, our parents have encouraged us and built us up, never ceasing to remind us of our family value "family first, with Christ at the center."
In October of 2016 our mom, Malinda, was diagnosed with grade 3, triple negative breast cancer (TNBC). This type of cancer is very aggressive and rare, effecting only 10-15% of breast cancer patients.
Our mom has conducted countless hours of research on other forms of treatment such as integrative medicine. While networking with both doctors and patients on success rates, and attending numerous medical seminars, she investigated Ty Bollinger, at "The Truth about Cancer". She's learned that Integrative treatments have produced great results. Unfortunately, there is one catch - insurance companies do not cover this type of treatment, and most clinics require private pay.
In addition to these TNBC cancer treatment costs, our parents are also responsible for care costs of our grandma with Alzheimer's Disease. Her 24 hour residential care home, and participation in memory care programs, have been expensive costs for our family to absorb at this time; however, my parents do so with generous and welcoming hearts.
SEPTEMBER 2017 UPDATE
Thank you to all who have supported Malinda’s journey to Hope4cancer in Mexico. In our last video update, we shared that the tumors had shrunk slightly and stabilized. This was great news since the cancer was a very aggressive type.
Integrative treatments do work! Malinda has kept in touch with several patients from the clinic who are seeing great results. However, after leaving the Hope4cancer center and continuing the home treatments, a recent PET scan revealed that the cancer had grown again and has spread to both lungs. Without a miracle and if we did nothing, the best doctors have told us she has six months to live. However, we are believing for a miracle from God.
The suggested stage 4 treatment from Kaiser, our insurance company, is a "one size fits all" approach that offered lower success rates (40%-50%) than what we are seeing with integrative medicine which is as high as 80% in some cases. Unfortunately, Kaiser doesn’t cover integrative protocols. Even UCSF has a department for integrative medicine, but Kaiser is a little behind the times on these progressive solutions.
A SECOND OPINION
Getting a second opinion led us to Dr. James Forsythe, founder of the Forsythe Cancer Care Center in Reno , NV, who offers IPT and Targeted Chemotherapy. A specific test is given and sent to a lab in Greece to find the bio-markers to target the chemo to those specific cancer cells.
Dr. Forsythe uses a low-dose IPT (Insulin potentiation therapy). Cancer cells love sugar! A cancer cell will have 20x’s more sugar receptors than a normal cell. With IPT, Insulin is used like a key to open cancer cells as a targeted therapy. IPT uses 70% less chemo than a "normal dosage.” Research displays it is both powerful and effective, with reduced “toxic side effects” of normal dose chemotherapy with proven efficacy.
WHY WE'RE DOING ANOTHER GOFUNDME
Malinda's lifestyle has been totally modified to keep cancer at bay but it's fighting back hard. This is why we're raising supplemental funding to help us go to the next level of treatment. The program is expensive and not covered by the insurance. We feel it's unlike anything offered by our insurance with a better success rate.
Thank you so much for partnering with us. With over half of the funds raised, we've deceided to move forward with tretment. This is great news for us that the wellness center is working with us to begin as treatment is urgently needed.
Throughout this process, we have been so humbly reminded that neither Cancer nor her Doctors have the authority to “author” or “define” our Mom’s days. We believe, and cling to the Truth that only God specifically knows her final breath, and holds her future. My family and I believe in miracles, and together we are staying strong, as we acknowledge that each day is a gift. Our Mom’s story is not over yet, even with the knowledge that this new fight is only just beginning. Together we stand in this fight against her cancer, and continue to lean on our slogan “God’s Got This.”
We appreciate your prayers and are grateful that you are partnering with us!

You may have heard that Malinda Rhea passed into Heaven peacefully on Friday morning April 6th, at 12:52am. She gracefully took her last breath in her sleep, surrounded by her loving family. Our hearts are heavy but we don't mourn as those who have no hope. We believe she's alive in paradise discovering all the glory that awaits all who trust Jesus Christ as their savior. We're grateful for your journey with us. Please plan to join us for her life celebration.

The Rhea Family
It’s been too long since we brought you an update. It’s clear Malinda has fought the good fight over the last 17 months since a diagnosis of Triple Negative Breast Cancer. You have all proudly stood with us at every turn / though every run for treatment and cure. We’ve seen this cancer metastasize, mutate several times, and has continued to spread and grow rapidly. The victories we’ve experienced have come in the many encouraging words and kind and loving thoughts you’ve sent our way. Tender sincere and unselfish gifts that offer a pleasant fragrance that continues to linger.
Today we learned that there is nothing more that our doctors can do for us. After recent rounds of radiation and chemo, we’ve been told that more chemo will be too toxic for Malinda’s fragile system...there’s just not enough strength to continue. Our new goal is to live as comfortably as possible, enjoy the time remaining and expect a new life to come following a glorious welcome to heaven from our lord and savior Jesus.
You never know what’s in store in this life. Just know that nothing surpasses love and family. That’s what you’ve all been to us and we will never forget your generosity. You’ve made us all better people by experiencing your genuine goodness.
We will pray with you that the days ahead will be savored and steadfast with peace. Our thanks and prayers for all of you that you will enjoy every blessing as you’ve supported us at the time of our greatest need.
