Have you been affected by a suicide death?
Friends for Survival (FFS) has been in existence for over 32 years. It is a national non-profit outreach organization available to those who are grieving a suicide death of family or friends. At the present time we are providing support and encouragement to 4,500 families. The most important service we provide is a monthly newsletter; the postage and printing is $2,300 per issue. The newsletter has information that helps grieving families take small steps through the grieving process. FFS also offers six monthly group meetings in Northern California. Out of state families, receive a newsletter and the availability of a Phone Buddy.
"FFS helped me tremendously after my son suicided. Receiving newsletters and attending monthly meetings has been a huge blessing. I'm able to talk about suicide and encourage other families. Hope and encouragement is huge after losing a child", said Toni Groth.
"My ex-husband died by suicide. Our oldest son was close to suicide because he struggled with the grief of losing his dad. We found FFS through the Emergency Room at the hospital. My son will tell you that FFS saved his life," said Barbara Ballas.
We are seeking donations at this time to continue staying afloat. At this time our account has a balance of less than$2,000 (as of 11/30/15). Besides producing newsletters, we have a very small paid staff and pay rent for our office space.
The staff, volunteers and I have put our heart and souls into FFS. Besides being the founder of this organization and comforting over 7,000 families, it would break our hearts to see FFS be unavailable to new grieving families. We know the profound grief and unspeakable sorrow that follows a suicide death. So, if you could dig deep in your pockets and give any size donation, we would be very grateful.
