There are people that CAN, and there are people that DO. We create this GoFundMe because We “do” love our best friend Joe Volpe and his lovely wife Terry.
Joe was diagnosed 6 months ago with lung cancer that has metastasized to the rest of his body and the worst part is that it is now in his brain. Along with a 30 pound weight loss from chemotherapeutic treatments and spread of the cancer to his brain, he has difficulty formulating words, but Joe continues to be the same ole’ Joe I grew up with....loving, kind spirited and giving.
The Volpe Family lost income because Joe can not work any longer and their bills are mounting and mounting! Going out of network for special tests has taken its toll.
Joe and Terry helped many people through the years (myself included) and never asked for anything in return. “Consider it a gift” is Joes favorite saying.
Years ago they purchased a three bedroom home so that Terry’s brother Tony (who had Down Syndrome)could live with them, taking him to the Lincoln Center because he loved Opera. Tony passed away last year, and they miss him terribly. They are and always were there for everyone. Friendship was the gift of all gifts.
