Friends of Coach O'D

We hope that this message finds you well and ready for golf season - finally!  We are writing to you today to ask for your help for Coach O’Donnell and his family.  As you may or may not be aware, his daughter, Mary Kate, has been very ill for the past few years. She has been suffering from unexplained seizures. Despite spending most of their savings on different specialists around the country, they have yet to figure out the root cause or find a solution to stop the seizures. As a result, she has encountered a period of financial distress due to having to quit her job, stop driving, and move home to have Tom & Janet help take care of her. He was very open with us at a recent dinner and confessed that he probably would have retired from teaching and coaching by now, but they really need time and additional resources to help her keep up with her medical bills.

After dinner, we discussed the possibility of helping out the O’Donnells as a group.  We figured that given how much time and love he has dedicated to each and every DHS golf player in the past 30 years of coaching, this is the least we could do. I am sure they will be appreciative of any amount. Our hope is that we will collect donations throughout this season and present the total amount to him at the end of year banquet in June as a surprise.  Please share the site with anyone else you think might want to help this wonderful family.
