I met Rob a few years ago on the job. We hit it off right from the jump. His personality. His sense of humor. Attitude. He made the job more fun. Rob never let anyone know he was going through absolute hell at home. His wife Leah was sick with cancer. One would never know it though, cause he came into work every day and cracked jokes, busted your balls and remained level-headed throughout. He never complained or wanted sympathy. He just went about his day and then would go home and take care of his wife and two kids.

A few days ago Leah lost her vigorously fought battle with cancer. My heart is broken in half for Rob and his children. He would never ask for anything. From anyone. I may be overstepping my bounds myself but I don't care. I want to try and do something for his kids. His beautiful kids Victoria and Robbie Jr. Nothing will ever replace the void left behind from losing their mom. I get that. I'm asking all my brothers and sisters in local 537 and beyond to try and help this family. I know he won't be coming back to work for awhile. He needs to be with his kids during the most tragic of times. I'm asking for a donation, anything, no amount is too small, to give to his kids. Rob is a great dad and he has an insanely tough road ahead. Let's show him we care.
Thank you for taking the time to read this passage. My heart is with Rob and his family during this trying time. May Leah rest peacefully.
