ABOUT THE SERIES
Freedom is a show about a black college student named Malcolm Turner who gets super powers after being brutalized by the police for no reason. Malcolm is endowed with the power to stop time and run at super speed. Malcolm realizes that he must be the person to stand up for the people who can't help themselves, even if it means going against the system.
OUR STORY
My name is Maurice Keyes and I am the creator of Freedom. I created Freedom because growing up I loved superheroes and comics but noticed that there was a lack of diversity and the heroes of color that I did know of was not as famous or powerful as a Batman, Superman, Spiderman etc. I wanted to create a black superhero who was just as powerful as any of them but had the same struggles that people of color have everyday. I have been creating films since I was 9 years old, and always wanted to tell stories that changed the status quo and challenged the viewers perception.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
What's up Freedom Fighters! We're at a midseason break. In order to continue this journey we're asking for your financial support. The money that you donate will be allocated towards feeding our cast and crew, securing locations and purchasing necessary equipment that will aid the continuation of our series.
We will be raising money for a period of 3 months and plan to start production again June. Your support means everything to us and we are grateful for any amount you can donate to help us achieve this goal.
This project will provide a foundation for future collaborations. We aim to provide opportunities to those who are up and coming and show interest Thank you all for your support!
