Why am I raising funds?

I am raising funds to help with my legal costs.

Why do I need legal funds?

I have been creating awareness and speaking out about my concerns regarding RSE (relationship and sex education) and the erosion of parental rights.

As a result I was reported by the National Secular Society and various individuals to my psychological professional and regulatory bodies as being unfit to practice.

I currently have 2 legal cases running:

1) The British Psychological Society (BPS) have suspended me for 18 months

2) The Health Care Professional Council (HCPC) are seeking an interim order because they believe I pose a serious risk to the public and profession. The order is for 18 months to stop me working until the final hearing when they will decide my fate.

My lawyers are very concerned that I have become the victim of a grave injustice by the BPS and HCPC.

How much will it cost?

I have received an initial quote of £20,000 to instruct a top legal team who are willing to take on both these cases. I have two cases running in parallel - one with the BPS and one with the HCPC.

Caveat: there is a possibility that both cases will go to the high court in which case I will need to increase the target amount to be raised.


What will happen if there are any surplus funds?

In the unlikely event that there are any surplus funds then I will donate the amount to organisations or individuals who are raising awareness about RSE concerns or helping to develop solutions. 

I will endeavour to be transparent at all stages about the legal costs and as to where any surplus money will be donated.


Why is this case important?

The issue of Relationships and Sex Education is a highly controversial topic ( https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/780768/Government_Response_to_RSE_Consultation.pdf ).

It is important that parents are empowered in their role within the family and that children are given appropriate guidance on sensitive issues such as sex and relationships at a time that is age- appropriate. A family’s religious faith also has an important part to play in a child’s upbringing.

It is important to fight and support this case on principle and on the grounds of fairness, justice and  freedom of speech. If any professional who shares their opinions publicly is silenced and struck off then it sets an extremely dangerous precedent and intimidates others from sharing their views for fear of reprisal.
