My name is Patty Garcia. I'm a long life friend of Frankie Gutierrez’s mother Tammy Acosta Torres as most of you know- but in our hearts, we consider each other sisters. Knowing the situation at hand in full details, I have decided to start another GoFundMe account on Frankie’s behalf.
At this time, as many of you already know, Frankie is battling Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) once again. Frankie’s portion of medical bills are piling up high, and everyday living expenses are getting very hard to keep up with monthly. Currently, his mother is working with the bank to consolidate all of his major expenses to obtain a lower payment each month, to help in alleviating the stress of making sure Frankie covers everything he needs to pay.
Since the onset of his diagnosis over 2.5 years ago, fundraising resources from the past have now diminished. The Gutierrez, Acosta, & Torres family appreciate everything our community, family, and friends have done in the past to make Frankie’s battle with this dreaded disease easier to handle financially, but Frankie needs your help once again. Please, whatever you can donate on this page, or any other ideas for fundraisers anyone can come up with will be greatly appreciated by Frankie, his family, and all of his loved ones.

Recent update into my life both medically and personal
platelet count hold at 5 (normal is 275-400) the fact that they didn’t move was encouraging. Today they dropped another point to 4 (they have dropped to 3 this morning) at a extremely high rush of spontaneous hemorrhaging . This really wasn’t the direction we were expecting them to go in but the fact that they move indicates there is something going on. We are hoping it starts to go up from here but all we can do it wait. My doctors have been giving me products to build blood in the mean time. Everyone here has been very respectful of my decision to refuse blood transfusion. This decision stems from my love and respect for Jehovah Gods commandments to obtain from the misuse of blood. Me taking this stand has lead to many question why, this has allowed me to share the Bible’s view point on the misuse of blood. It always brings me joy to share bible truths.
Red and white blood cells are down as well. The effects of the red cells makes me really tired,short of breath, and light headed. White blood cells means little to no immunity. They have me on constant antibiotic, Antifungal, and antiviral medications to prevent any type of infection. I also have to wear a mask when leaving my room or when I have visitors and I have to wash my hands constantly.
They have me on a lot of pain medication due to the extreme bone pain caused by the leukemia growing in the bone marrow. These pain meds cause constipation which is very scary when you have no way to clot blood. So pushing when having a bowl movement is out of the question. I’m on Lots of stool Softeners to help facilitate smooth passing. I haven’t been regular but they are moving once in a while so I’m happy. The other risk factors is broken skin that come with constipation. broken skin and fecal matter are a cause for concern when it come to infection. I have to ensure that things are very sanitized down there to avoid what has happened in the past.
Chemo was given a few days ago now so things should really start to take a turn for the better soon. All of the above are the immediate concerns. Other then that we take it day by day. I am so grateful for these doctors who are constantly Discussing my case in search of better options. I really feel like they have a lot of confidence in the option We are exploring now.
On a personal note:
I have a few things in the works financially. My family and I are Trying to consolidate my bills so to make the burden a little lighter and more organized. I feel like this will relieve a lot of stress.
It wasn’t easy to accept but I’ve decided to explore the option of disability. My doctor and I have discussed the fact that I may never be the same physical strength and I may have to stay on treatment in order to stay alive. This information wasn’t easy to accept but I have to listen to the experts, I also have consider my past trends.
The ongoing support whether it be Prayer, Love, financial, any kind words/gestures, and mostly knowing that me sharing my journey has helped others; these all had and continue to have a powerful effect on my recover and overall well being. So THANK YOU ALL for your constant feedback and suggestion. My support team is so amazing and real. I know Jehovah God is the true source of that support these couple scriptures really clarify this
Isaiah 41:10 which says “Do not be afraid, for I am with you.Do not be anxious, for I am your God.I will fortify you, yes, I will help you,I will really hold on to you with my right hand of righteousness” also Matthew 6:34 says “So never be anxious about the next day, for the next day will have its own anxieties. Each day has enough of its own troubles.”
Your support has been the manifestation of Jehovah’s support and love for me. In other words I feel like God has used each of you to love and support my family and I during these though times. I know if I remain loyal, keep my integrity, continue to obey God’s commandments, and strive to do his will by teaching others about him and all his good promises of the future then I have no doubt that he will continue to support me and never let me go without psalm 4:3 “Know that Jehovah will treat his loyal one in a special way;Jehovah will hear when I call to him”.
Till this days I can honestly say that I have felt and seen Jehovah’s helping hand in my life. He has help to comfort my family, I have experienced support and love from fellow Jehovah witnesses world wide. It has truly been an amazing things to be a part of and I desperately want everyone to experience these feeling that have built such strong faith in me. If any of you have the opportunity to study the Bible and or attend meetings with Jehovah’s witnesses please take advantage of it. I promise in a world filled with confusing, crime, hatred, and non truth, I know you will experience all the opposites. You will learn bible truths that give us great hope and explain why the world is out of control. You will also meet sincerely loving people who are truly concerned of your wellbeing. Quite different then the world outside. John 13:34,35 “I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, you also love one another. By this all will know that you are my disciples—if you have love among yourselves.””

My Over all physical appearance is pretty skinny and weak. I’m eating but the nature of this cancer is uncontrollable weight loss. I cant shave because of the fear of bleeding. I weight less then I did in high school which has been hard for me to accept but there isn’t much I can do about it. Over all I have worked really hard To ensuring that I’m getting vital nutrients in my body. Im taking muti vitamins and nutrition shakes. Calories are important but my body can’t retain them right now. nutrients and vitamins and extremely important.
So I’ll continue to keep my head up, keep fighting and searching for ways I can help others in my position. I love you all and I’ll talk to you all soon.
