Frames of Hope Photography Project

FRAMES OF HOPE IS A PHOTOGRAPHY PROJECT THAT DOCUMENTS & PRESERVES THE STORIES OF FAMILIES WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED LOSS, ILLNESS AND HEARTBREAK AND PERSEVERED THROUGH THESE TIMES WITH STRENGTH, HOPE AND BEAUTY.
THE AMAZING FAMILIES THAT ARE PART OF THIS PROJECT ARE GIVEN THE GIFT OF A PROFESSIONAL PHOTO SHOOT AND LASTING TANGIBLE MEMORIES.

Their stories of hope, resilience and strength are also shared to encourage others.

The back-story that kick started this whole idea >
Before I had children I worked in child protection. My role took me out on the road every day into the homes of many families as I facilitated contact sessions with children in foster care and their biological families. 

In many cases, these contact sessions were not regular and it could be weeks, months or even years between visits with a child and their birth family and siblings. 

I longed for a way to start documenting these special occasions. I wanted these children to look back on their childhood and see that in the midst of a very chaotic time of life, there were in fact family that really loved them, bought special gifts, celebrated milestones and just showed up. 

So I started bringing along my camera, taking candid family portraits and documenting the little things that would one day mean so much more. I made small books for the children so they would have tangible memories to look at. 
This was the birth of the project, Frames of Hope. I now work as a photographer and love continuing to build upon this vision to preserve the memories and stories of those whose stories often go untold. 

How we can collaborate on this project together >

Through your ongoing support, I have been able to provide many sessions to families, here are some of the stories that I have captured and preserved in beautiful imagery and photographic gifts ~ 

+ a family with a little one fighting stomach cancer
+ a mother living in a refuge with nothing but a suitcase and her children
+ a family that experienced great loss which was replaced by the miracle of two new babies
+ a young mother fighting cancer for the third time who has now passed away but her beautiful memories remain 
+ a father with lung cancer surrounded by his family on his very last day, his last smiles, conversation and presence is now forever recorded in a beautiful film and photo books for this family 

This is how it works:

+ I offer my professional photography services for free to do the photo shoots. 

+ I need your support to turn these digital memories into tangible pieces of art that can adorn walls, sit on coffee tables in the form of beautiful photo books and be treasured for many years.

+ These funds will be specifically used for fine art prints, canvases, photo books and other costs incurred in doing these shoots such as travel, equipment and post-processing costs. 

UPDATE: There has been such amazing support and interest in this project that I am currently working on expanding it to other states throughout Australia as I have had many photographers apply to be a 'Frames of Hope' photographer.
